There are a couple of ways to get the special letters/characters in Spanish and French. For WINDOWS, you can go to « insert » menu on the upper toolbar, then click on « symbol, » and write it in that way, or else you can hold down the alt key and press the designated number at the same time.

 For MAC, you can use the international palette.  (Or "insert" as well. (I think ?????) 

Remember to hold down the ‘ALT’ key as you type in the designated number with Windows.
